Damian Cavaleri Named a Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal
Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney, LLP partner Damian Cavaleri has been named to The National Law Journal’s list of 2023 Litigation Trailblazers. He is one of 60 attorneys selected nationwide, and his profile is available here.
As a partner in the firm’s Employment Law & Counseling group, Damian has over a decade of experience litigating and arbitrating a wide range of employment-related disputes. He regularly advises both employers and employees on novel legal issues, with a focus on helping clients navigate restrictive covenants and their enforcement where necessary. Damian excels in litigating high-stakes disputes on uncertain legal terrain, often setting new precedent in the process.
In one groundbreaking case, Damian represented a financial services firm whose former employee had stolen client data, and secured the first seizure order ever issued under the Defend Trade Secrets Act. He and his team, working from scratch, developed a process for carrying out such seizures which have now become the blueprint for others. In another significant matter, Damian first chaired a jury trial win against Mastercard International on behalf of a Jordanian financial services firm, where a jury awarded his client the entirety of the amount sought at trial – $2.78 million – and awarded nothing to Mastercard on its counterclaims.
Damian has been recognized by Benchmark Litigation since 2019, as both a Litigation Star and a Labor & Employment Star. He was previously named an Employment Law Trailblazer by The National Law Journal and was also shortlisted for Euromoney Legal Media Group’s Americas Rising Star Award for Best in Litigation: Trial Lawyer.
