New York Health and Essential Rights Act Takes Effect
Alert
07.30.2021
Another law arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic is on the horizon for New York employers. The New York HERO Act mandates extensive new workplace health and safety protections. Employers must adopt an Infectious Disease Exposure Prevention Plan which will go into effect when an airborne infectious disease is designated by the New York State Commissioner of Health. By August 5, 2021, employers must adopt plans, but as of the date of this writing no designation has been made and plans are not required to be in effect. See the client alert here.
