Three HNRK Partners Named to 2021 Benchmark Litigation 40 & Under Hot List
New York, NY—July 21, 2021—Hoguet Newman Regal & Kenney, LLP partners Damian Cavaleri, John Curley, and Helene Hechtkopf have been recognized on Benchmark Litigation’s 2021 40 & Under Hot List. The annual ranking highlights the nation’s most notable up and coming litigation attorneys in the United States based on extensive client and peer feedback.
Damian has more than a decade of experience litigating and arbitrating a wide range of employment-related disputes. He regularly advises both employers and employees on novel legal issues, with a focus on helping clients navigate restrictive covenants and their enforcement where necessary. Notably, he helped secure the first seizure order under the Defend Trade Secrets Act, giving those seeking to protect their trade secrets access to a highly unusual remedy: property seizures following theft. This is the third consecutive year he’s been named to the 40 & Under Hot List, and he was named an Employment Law Trailblazer by The National Law Journal in 2020.
John focuses his practice on complex business and securities litigation and white collar enforcement proceedings. He represents clients in securities-related regulatory investigations and proceedings, including investigations by FINRA, the CFTC, the SEC, and the Department of Justice, and also represents clients in civil securities litigation and complex commercial disputes, including RICO and securities fraud. He successfully defended an equities trader against unfounded insider trading allegations; a FINRA panel dismissed the proceeding in its entirety following a three-day disciplinary hearing. This is the second consecutive year he’s been named to the 40 & Under Hot List, and he was named to Euromoney’s Rising Stars shortlist in 2018 and 2019.
Helene focuses her practice on a wide range of litigation, including commercial, employment, and construction. She has represented the MTA in numerous Federal Employers Liability Act cases, including a rare three-day bench trial where she served as first chair and won a defense verdict. Helene was recently named a Rising Star by The New York Law Journal and a Woman Worth Watching by Profiles in Diversity Journal. This is the second consecutive year she’s been named to the 40 & Under Hot List.
