Amory spoke with Law360 about the U.S. Soccer Federation’s recent partial settlement with the women’s national team over working conditions, and the team’s ongoing fight for equality. Despite this week’s partial settlement, the team is planning to bring their discrimination case back to court after a federal judge dealt a serious blow to the women earlier this year, dismissing their claims of discrimination under the Equal Pay Act. “There is a difference between something being unfair and there being illegal discrimination” said Amory.
